Bulk checkout creates separate emails for every item checked out.

Open jdlij2nb opened this issue 7 years ago • 19 comments

If you check out multiple items with the bulk checkout feature and have the "Require users to confirm acceptance of assets in this category." and "Send email to user on checkin/checkout." selected for the category of the items being checked out they will receive one email per item.

Users should receive one email with multiple items in it with the option to accept all the items at once.

This is especially important in a classroom setting where users may receive 30+ student devices causing them to "Agree" to 30 separate emails.

We are also experiencing this issue when checking out assets to people at our institution. For me it isn't too much of a bother since the emails are put into one conversation, but for those who have emails come in separately it can be quite a hassle.

This would be extremely helpful. Maybe include a PDF or CVS of the assets that are bulk checked out? We sometimes check out 200+ assets to a single user, getting 200+ emails is overwhelming for them.

Thanks!

Hol' up, installed v5.0, still getting email for each asset checked out — am I missing something?

Stopped using Snipe-IT in 2018 because of this. Found this very thread and it said: "snipe added this to the v5.0 milestone on Jul 25, 2018". I said, cool, let's wait for v5 then. This week v5 releases (been a bit of a wait) and...

It didn't make it into v5, but it's still on deck.

Awesome, will wait for it

Does anyone know when it is likely that this feature will be introduced? Really looking forward to seeing this one..

If not any time soon, are there any known workarounds for this in the meantime? We just want to capture a single signature for multiple assets. i.e. we don't want to expect users to sign off on each asset individually if there a lot of them...

Not currently

+1, this would be very beneficial to have as we have a lot of assets for every user that gets onboarded. Any idea on the roadmap for this?

This could also be worked into predefined kits once they are finished (can't predefine anything but assets currently).

+1 This would be really useful.

This will be nice to achieve. We have 16 Centers and each admin would have to sign for over 20 assets if we activate this. Right now we still using a worksheet with an electronic pad to make them sign just once...

as a workaround create Bulk Assets where u assign Assets to and voila only one email ;)

AkimoA avatar Aug 17 '23 04:08 AkimoA

@AkimoA Please if you explain bit further how to do bulk assets, is it Predefined Kits ?

rasari03 avatar Nov 29 '23 23:11 rasari03

@rasari03 for example create an asset named box and assign 10 CAT5E cable assets to that box , check out the box 1 eMail for customer with a box full of cat5e cables.

The first part of this, sending one email when bulk checking out items, is addressed in #18095.

Users should receive one email with multiple items in it with the option to accept all the items at once.

I've created a new issue for the "accept all the items at once" part of the original request: #18327.
