[Feature]: Isolate Asset Tag on report when assigned to asset

Open SoreThumb1 opened this issue 1 month ago • 3 comments

Snipe-IT Version

8.3.4

How can we help?

When an asset is assigned to another asset, the 'Checked Out' field on a report displays the asset tag in parentheses and the model in the same cell. Please isolate the asset tag in its own cell without additional parenthesis. This will assist with cross referencing since it saves the step of having to extract the asset tag.

Example Current: (01-123) - Model XYZ Expected: 01-123

On what reports, exactly? Also, this will likely upset a whole bunch of other people who specifically rely on additional information (not just the asset tag) in those areas since they don’t use asset tags as a particularly useful source of info (autoincrementing, for example), so I’m not super inclined to make this change.

Custom asset reports. I get your point about it being convenient to group data together. Perhaps this can be an option based on the user's preference.

Split asset tag/model to separate cells: Yes / No

In that report, you could have lots of assets that are checked out to people, so the asset tag for the "checked out to" as a separate column doesn't really make sense there.
