Snipe-IT Version

v8.3.3 - build 20061 (master)

How can we help?

We have semi-regular e-waste collections from site. When an asset is moved to the e-waste status (archived), it is effectively no longer usable. However, it would be useful to generate a report of current e-waste equipment – essentially, everything that is currently sitting on the pallet. It may also be helpful to assign accessories to a virtual e-waste pallet in the same way.

When the pallet is ready for collection, we can process this in Snipe-IT. Doing so would create a snapshot of the report mentioned above, giving us a complete list of what was on the pallet at the time of collection. Those devices would then be marked as collected (or updated using another suitable status), ensuring that future reports no longer include items that have already been taken away.

From an audit perspective, this would be ideal, as it would allow us to see exactly what equipment was collected and on which date.

Thanks!

We had a similar requirement.

We created a dummy user, without Login, called Damaged Accessories. Assign all the Accessories to this user and drop-them physically in the dedicated bin. Once the bin is full, ready for sending to the e-waste processor, we take a report of the user, to get all the details in one go. We use Print All Assigned option.

Once sent out, bulk-edit the assets to the Archived Status and then use Check-in All. Now we have a clean state to start from.

I mean, I suppose I could check into a location. Still curious if we could do something transactional like I had mentioned.
