Snikket freezes and crashes due to change in room membership

Describe the bug Snikket freezes right after opening it and then sometimes crashes.

At first it opens up fine, and allows scrolling and changing tabs. After about a second or two a notification appears: Could not join room. Reason: Membership is required to access the room. Right after that the app freezes and doesn't allow scrolling or changing tabs. If left in this frozen state it crashes after some time. When opening it again after that the same things happen.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior: Be a non-member of a public conference. Have the public conference converted to a private conference. Try to open Snikket.

Software versions:

  • App Version: 1.2 build 10

  • iOS version: 16.6.1

  • iPhone model: iPhone 11

  • Server software or domain name: Prosody 0.12.3-1
