https://github.com/nostr-protocol/nips/pull/1335 is an example attempt to add another provider to NIP-39, with discussion.
We ended up using NIP-48 proxy tags for this instead.
The catch here is that we don't currently host blobs, so all of the pictures on my posts would disappear 😕

The other drawback here is that I won't be able to use @snarfed.org to log into and use other ATProto apps and services, #1785 notwithstanding.

Oh, I thought you meant _deliberately_ parse Markdown, as in expect it anywhere inbound. Unintentionally, on the other hand, yes. 😁
