Why don't we ignore the `.ipynb_checkpoints` directory by default?

Is there any value in checking the files generated by Snakemake in the workflow/notebooks/.ipynb_checkpoints directory into Git? If not, why isn't this path included in the .gitignore template?

I'd be happy to provide a PR, if there is interest and it save you time.
