History of recent stations
It would be great to have a third tab among favorites and search which allows to select recently searched stations.
Reasoning: I often travel and stay a while in a foreign region. Its quite tedious to enter the stations names again and again and remember them all. Having a history of even a few entries would take away this task.
Suggestions: History size 10 (about one screen) or even optional.
So again the question about favorite station / favorite searches. Based on the description it looks like a favorite station request. (which is already supported, either by clicking on the star icon in station selection or by click and hold) You mention "recent stations", which is something like automatic temporarly favorites. I don't know if this is really needed if we already have favorites :)
About favorite searches, this is a completely other feature, one which i want to implement for a long time now and for that maybe recent searches also makes sense.
I already have some ideas but the main question is how should it work? It only makes sense, in my opinion, to not save the date/time only the other parameters. Then how is the flow? User clicks on a favorite search and it starts with "departure now" or, should it prefill the search boxes and requires a second click?
I am talking about "recent stations" if that was not clear enough. I tried to explain, why it is useful, even if there are already favourites. Sometimes you travel towards another city to visit an event, putting the stations into favorites is bad because you probably will never need them again after the event and have to delete them by hand. "recent stations" would take care of this.
"favourite searches" would be no help here, they would also clutter with stations you will never visit again and wont be as convenient to find the way home from an event. They may be a nice feature to, but are not as important as "recent stations" in my eyes.
Ok, makes more sense now :) And yes an other tab like favorites makes sense (based on gui) I also would add the size to options.
