BlackList

A blacklist of bad domains in DNS hosts format and Adblock Plus syntax.

Purpose

Blocking bad domains used for serving advertisements, tracking, mining, and other nasty content.

What is a host file?

The hosts file, is a plain-text file used by all operating systems to map hostnames to IP addresses. Host file preferred over DNS so if a domain name is resolved by the hosts file, the request never leaves your computer.

Location of your hosts file

• Linux / Mac OS X, iOS, Android: /etc/hosts
• Winodws XP, 7, 8.0, 8.1, 10: C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
• Windows 2000: C:\WINNT\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

What is an adblock?

Ad blocking is a software designed to prevent advertisements from appearing on a web page or an application.
