Scoped Resource

Is there a way I can filter out certain items from search.

For example I'm making the select in such way that the user can select "Discounted products" and I have a scope scopeDiscounted on a Product model. It would be great if I can pass a Resource with a scope from a model so that the user cannot find the resource if it doesn't have certain attributes.
