Latency / long pauses when changing slicing settings

Describe the bug When changing any slicing setting under print, filament or printer menus, either in their tab, or on the side menu shortcuts, slic3r stops responding for some time, with the menus often 'blinking'.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Change setting (ie, enter a number in the layer height setting)
2. Wait for slic3r to become responsive

3D Model and Slic3r Configuration Export Occurs in all configurations, with or without a file.

Expected behavior Minimal latency when changing settings
