MAC USER NOT WORKING
Checking prerequisites and preparing Autopsy:
Checking for PhotoRec...found in /usr/local/bin Checking for Java...found in /Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/jdk1.8.0_181.jdk/Contents/Home/ Checking for Sleuth Kit Java bindings...found in /usr/local/share/java Copying sleuthkit-4.6.5.jar into the Autopsy directory...cp: /Users/banginpadr/autopsy/autopsy/modules/ext/sleuthkit-postgresql-4.6.5.jar: No such file or directory ERROR: Copying /usr/local/share/java/sleuthkit-4.6.5.jar to /Users/banginpadr/autopsy/autopsy/modules/ext/sleuthkit-postgresql-4.6.5.jar failed. Please check your permissions.
im trying to run unix_septup.sh and i get this all the time. plus i see that is trying to copy something to a dir that doesnt exist.
So, what happens if you create the directory before you run the script?
Hi search the sleuth kitsleuthkit-4.6.5.jar copy it manually to folder /Users/banginpadr/autopsy/autopsy/modules/ext/ Thats all but believe me you will get other Errors after Autopsy start I be sure you end at that you cannot open a case and cannot create one mostly at create autopsy crashes.
In my Eyes nobody from developers have tested only one Time this App on a real Mac ! For a real Chance get it working you can use virtual Box or Fusion (VMware not Free!) make a clean OsX install , install brew (nothing else !) install dependency Software and than try autopsy on that VM. Every Mac is like every Linux never in same state than autopsy want / need it mostly Users use other Software packages and tested other Apps with Brew so you will have libs with different version Numbers wrong Java Version and so far.
If that is a Hobby project for you and you have time and no need for a working app maybe for real Investigation than try until it woks but believe me a simple brew upgrade can destroy your work in a few seconds.
