Add an option to add some space between paragraphs
It would be nice if there was an option to add some space between paragraphs. I find it is easier to read the page when the paragraphs are separated this way.
The common practice in gemtext is that paragraphs are separated by an empty line. That way the presentation of paragraphs will be clear no matter what way the gemtext is being viewed (even as source in a text editor). For example, see formatting throughout gemini://gemini.circumlunar.space/.
I believe it is detrimental to the general readability of text in Geminispace if clients assume spacing needs to be added between paragraphs. It also adds to the implementation complexity required from a client. If Lagrange implements a paragraph spacing option, it may enable more people to assume that having empty lines between paragraphs is not required / best practice.
That said, I am planning to introduce page layout customizations, and spacing between paragraphs could be one such customization. However, I'm not planning to have such spacing in the built-in themes.
One related feature that I have on my todo list is text cleanup tools for Gopher (where lines are hard-wrapped). These would be toggles that one can activate on a particular page to fix any formatting issues, e.g., reflow paragraphs. This could be extended to allow adding empty lines between long Gemini paragraphs.
