Small grammar and spelling changes. Remove `tex` annotations

A couple of small rephrasings; changed "resolute" (meaning "to be certain") to "resolve" (really complicated history to this one and most native speakers won't understand, but, this in context means "to finalize by splitting apart (sense 1e)";) changed a comma to a semicolon.

Removed tex annotations from code blocks. tex does not mean text; it refers to the programming language TeX. The @article citation at the end actually is TeX. The rest are just text.
