Hi Allen, have you looked at this at all? https://github.com/koniu/recoll-webui/blob/master/README.rst#opening-files-via-local-links

Not tested for a while so the specific solutions might be out of date but the principle still stands. Let us know how you get on – it'd be good to update the docs if things changed.
