Is there any documentation for version 3.0

Not yet, but we will have everything documented before 3.0 GA is released. In general, the REST APIs and model are very similar, but a lot of the underlying architecture has been updated. We started a high-level overview wiki of the 3.0 updates here though it is far from complete.
