mangles argument

Hello sitaramc, I enjoy using map (and tmt)!

I think I hit a self-explanatory corner-case issue:

$ echo a/./ | map echo
a/.

The trailing / disappeared. I think it's bug, unless it's some special feature I'm not aware of.
