Feature Enhancement : "De Duplicate Links"
A suggeestion for a feature enhancement could be to offer a function that allows for merging (or removal) of duplicate links stored in the system.. This can be run either by clicking a button in the UI or post-import of a Bookmarks file.
So you are importing from a source that contains duplicates? Maybe the import should prevent dupes in a "smart" way, that would be low effort compared to implementing a UI for merging.
When i started to use this awesome linkding gem, i imported a lot of bookmarks from different platforms and browsers, which resulted in many duplicate bookmarks. In my opinion, it would be useful to introduce a feature that not only removes duplicates during import but also serves as a general cleaning function. This would be especially helpful because i have to keep using different browsers that can't synchronize bookmarks with each other.
I think it would be nice to use the page link as the unique identifier for each bookmark, just like other browsers do? I recently encountered this problem as well.
