missing typings.json

on step 3 npm run typings from the read me I am given the following warning typings WARN enoent Path "/Users/username/programming/web/angular2/angular2-bs4-navbar-master/typings.json" is missing after continuing with the steps and running the application there is no navigation links displayed. is the warning that is displayed normal? am I missing a step?
