Console Keyboard Unresponsive

The keyboard on my Console (netbook) is no longer responsive. The power button works, but none of the othe keys work, including the mouse button keys (the red trackpoint works). I only purchased the unit on July 7 from Aliexpress, so I am reluctant to open it up so soon. Any insights would be most be most appreciated.
