The two entries are not equivalent. Tabs navigation doesn't open nor close diffview, whereas DiffviewOpen and DiffViewClose do that.

Moreover, this plugin has a sane design, and can easily open multiple diffviews with different arguments, each having its own lifecycle.

Sorry, but I'm done with this. I have already spent too much time trying to help other users with this common question. I have since stopped using this plugin myself and moved on.
