Describe the bug

Apparently when I set up Google calendar for my plash desktop, a dedicated copy of the then-current version of Chrome was cloned to serve the page (?). Now, there's a new release of Chrome (which I have upgraded to in my Applications folder), but the dedicated Chrome instance displaying the calendar gives me the message in my issue title every time I run it. Eventually the calendar will probably stop working.

To reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Use Plash to set up Google Calendar as your desktop
  2. Wait until there is a new Chrome release Expected behavior

I expected that updating the version of Chrome in /Applications would also update the version used for Plash

Screenshots

If applicable, add screenshots to help explain your problem.

Info

  • macOS version: Sonoma 14.5
  • Plash version: 2.15.0

Additional context

I tried to find ways to fix this but failed. Maybe completely uninstalling plash and all its settings, and then setting it up again would work, but if I have to do that every time there's a Chrome update I'm not going to use Plash.

Plash uses the built-in Safari, not Chrome. I tried showing Google Calendar in Plash and I'm not seeing any warnings like this.

I have the same issue. I can open Google Calendar in Safari normally, but when I use Plash there will be a warning on the top of my desktop. And I have no Chrome installed on my desktop.

Same behavior here, Plash displays "This browser version is no longer supported" message when displaying Google Calendar. Google Calendar opens without error message in Safari, Chrome, and Firefox. Plash Version 2.16.0 (58) MacOS 15.3.1 (24D70)

For now, if it's just a visual annoyance, you can hide the div element by adding this to your CSS field:

.V8Lvo { display: none !important; }
