Add delete option to upload command

Open kosli opened this issue 1 year ago • 7 comments

It would be great if there would be a delete option when using the upload command, so that a successful upload (or check with online version) would delete the local copy of the file. This would reduce the work on cleaning up local directories where the images have been uploaded and where only unsupported filetypes will be left in the directories.

It's a long waiting request. I was reluctant to implement it because Immich-go could be buggy. Maybe I can reconsider it

I believe this could be a valuable feature. Instead of deleting the files, the option could involve moving successfully uploaded files to a different directory or a separate folder.

Same request here. Often the datasets have duplicates and snapshots so it isn't an issue. It can be a tech workaround foolsafe implementation. Much thanks!

Another support for this feature. As @z0gst said, move successful uploads to a folder and then the user can decide to delete that folder or whatever out of immich-go's scope.

+1 Ideally, it would also work with --dry-run (so it would delete locally, but not upload to server the missing pictures). This would allow to easily build a list of server-side missing files, and possibly review them easily (maybe we already removed them from server after a previous immich-go upload, and it's much easier to sort them again before uploading).
