504 Gateway Timeout when searching aliases
Apologies if this isn't the correct place to report service issues, but for the last few hours I have been unable to search for aliases either in the web interface or the iPhone app. On the web, searching in the filter search box at https://app.simplelogin.io/dashboard/
stalls for a while, and then gives 504 Gateway Time-out
, with the browser URL at e.g. https://app.simplelogin.io/dashboard/?sort=&filter=&query=somesearchterm
. On iPhone, I get the spinner for a while and then nothing other than the search box at the top.
In the browser I've tried on Safari and Chrome (Mac), the latter also in incognito mode to confirm it's not a cookie/cache issue.
I don't see any issues listed at https://status.simplelogin.io/... but is something down in the system?
Everything else I have tried, including filtering for active/inactive aliases seems to work fine - it's just the text search that isn't working.
@rowatt do you know if the problem is persistent, i.e. the timeout always happens? In that case, can you send us your SimpleLogin account address at hi[at]simplelogin.io so we can investigate? There used to be very slow when you have a lot of aliases (>10000) but this should be fixed now.
Thanks @nguyenkims. The problem is persistent - it always happens when searching since I first noticed a couple of days ago. I think the last time I did a (successful) search was sometime last week, but can't remember exactly. I've emailed you with my account details.
Also - in case it's helpful - en route to the web address showing when I get the 504 timeout, the address https://app.simplelogin.io/auth/login
is in the browser address bar for a while. Roughly speaking it goes:
- ->
https://app.simplelogin.io/dashboard/?sort=&filter=&query=somesearchterm
(3-4 seconds) - ->
https://app.simplelogin.io/auth/login
(58 seconds) - ->
https://app.simplelogin.io/dashboard/?sort=&filter=&query=somesearchterm
(immediately to 504 timeout)
@rowatt this issue indeed happens when searching, we are investigating and will keep you updated as soon as we find a way to speed up the search.
@rowatt we have made some changes to speed up the search, do you still experience slow loading?
Unfortunately I can't say for sure as I did a cleanup a while ago and now only have about 1800 aliases. Certainly with 1800 aliases everything is great now speed-wise.
i will help you to setup this application
