rewrite in rust or at least modern python

the tool is great, and i can't find any alternative to it. but it's such a pain to get it working on a modern system! maybe someone is interested in rewriting this so it can be easier to get?

super agree, still looking for an application like this. can't even find one for Windows, let alone Linux
