Moving from a clunky Jekyll / manual site for "Watched Netflix Videos"

I joined Netflix at the end of 2016 and decided to post about some of the stuff I watched for the benefit of friends and family. I started off with just a plain text page and went through a few iterations with Rails and then finally did a blog thing with Jekyll for a few years. With other stuff going on and the clunky manual effort required, I eventually stopped posting to the site.

Now I think Datasette might be able to make it much esier and friendlier to keep up a new site up to date - what I am thinking is:

  1. Download my Netflix history every month in CSV format: Title, Date (Watched) for the main table.
  2. Have a second table with my stuff in it:
  • Year (of release)
  • URL
  • Duration
  • Plot (from OMDB or IMDB)
  • Notes (my comments)

However, how do I link the info in Table 2 to the video in Table 1? - not all the videos would have a record in Table 2 and there would be duplications if you just do a lookup by only the Title eg here are some CSV lines from an old download (in Aus date order):

Title,Date "Infinite","17/11/23" "Rick and Morty: Season 7: Unmortricken","17/11/23" "Together Together","13/11/23" "The Good Doctor: Season 6: Love's Labor","13/11/23" "The Good Doctor: Season 6: A Beautiful Day","13/11/23" "The Good Doctor: Season 6: Blessed","13/11/23" "The Good Doctor: Season 6: Half Measures","12/11/23" "The Good Doctor: Season 6: A Blip","12/11/23" "The Good Doctor: Season 6: Second Chances and Past Regrets","12/11/23" "The Good Doctor: Season 6: The Good Lawyer","12/11/23" "The Good Doctor: Season 6: Old Friends","12/11/23" "The Good Doctor: Season 6: Hard Heart","12/11/23" "The Good Doctor: Season 6: 39 Differences","12/11/23" "The Good Doctor: Season 6: 365 Degrees","12/11/23" "The Good Doctor: Season 6: The Good Boy","11/11/23" "The Good Doctor: Season 6: Quiet And Loud","10/11/23" "Rick and Morty: Season 7: That's Amorte","10/11/23" "Life on Our Planet: Chapter 2: The First Frontier","10/11/23" "Life on Our Planet: Chapter 1: The Rules of Life","8/11/23" . .

I need to be able to re-create Table 1 every month so I don't think a record ID is going to work . .

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Regards, Phil.
