Deployers don't interact on wooden slabs with Andesite Alloy when creating the kinetic mechanism

This first ocurred on a server. We wanted to go past a quest where you need to craft the kinetic mechanism. We went into a superflat world to try and make a kinetic mechanism with oak slabs, 2 deployers with andesite alloy and 1 deployer with a saw.

The deloyers dont want to interact with the oak slabs. Any way to fix this or is this a error in the code?

Are the slabs on a belt/depot or just on the ground?
