I can only guess that the reason to pass in `poetry` explicitly was to set the python version? so maybe there's an alternative way of doing that?

perhaps we could somehow trial this thing by running it in reverse: SLURP is created and exists soley as a mirror of, say, hackage and stackage. it somehow watches them...

the problem is that at the top of the script you have: ``` -- -hide-all-packages ``` this becomes an arg to this program itself, with stack 1.7.0 (evidently...)
