Uncancelable donation
- [x] I have searched open and closed issues for duplicates

Bug description
A donation no longer shows up on the Donate to Signal screen if a payment fails — however, the actual recurring payment isn't cancelled and will be made again on the following billing cycle, with no way to cancel it.
I'm now actually being charged twice for donations with no way to cancel. I had set up my original donation with a card which, at one point, had no funds for the payment to be made. Since the active donation no longer appeared on that screen, I went ahead and made a new donation, with a new card. However, on the next billing cycle, both my cards were charged.
I've emailed support but got no response (which is not a bug, but definitely not the best look for when the actual issue is about payments and money).
Steps to reproduce
- set up a donation
- let the payment fail on the recurring payment (for instance, make sure you don't have enough funds)
- check the active donation no longer shows up on the Donate to Signal screen
- make sure the payment method has enough funds for the next payment
Actual result: The card will be charged, even though the active donation doesn't appear on the app. There's no way to cancel that donation
Expected result: Card shouldn't be charged and/or I should still be able to cancel that donation.
Device info
Device: iPhone 11
iOS version: 16.5.1
Signal version: 6.34.0.10
I have the exact same issue (but I don’t think I’ve ever had a payment fail, it just broke on its own) and when I sent a support request about this one year ago they just ignored it, so don’t hold your breath about this getting fixed …

@Miguel-Signal Sent! Thank you.
@diniscorreia Thanks for reporting this, you should not expect to be double-charged again but please feel free to let us know if you do.
I'm facing the same issue through a different path.
My iPhone was on a Canadian App Store, once I moved to the states and switched stores I no longer can see the "Manage Subscription". I'm still getting charged monthly on my Canadian card with no way to switch billing info, or cancel.

I'm also waiting for resolving this issue. I also can not cancel my subscription. I will send my debug log and reference to this ticket. Please, fix this issue. Thanks in advance.
Same deal, currently uncancelable, and seems the last scheduled payment never went through despite subscription appearing active: https://community.signalusers.org/t/signal-ios-has-no-option-to-cancel-monthly-donation/58928?u=balupton
I also recall that a while back I change the currency I wanted to be billed in, and it ended up duplicating charges for a few months, not sure what I did to resolve that as it was a year or more ago.
+1
I am on the latest version of the iOS app, and have been paying a monthly donation for over a year. My credit card was updated recently, and the old one cancelled. I see no option in the app to change the credit card, or to cancel my monthly subscription to re-enter my info.

It ended up resolving itself for me after another month or so (I believe I cancelled the card it used, so I guess it realised it at some point a month or two later)
