I experience the same issue on my iPhone 14 Pro. Model: MQ0E3LL/A. My friend who has the 256GB model does not experience the issue. As a temporary fix if you change the Screen Lock Timeout to anything other than "immediately" the issue does not persist. This issue has existed on my phone since I got the iPhone 14 pro. At first I thought it was just a glitch with the Always on Display, but I started to realize that it only happens with Signal. It is purely related to AoD being enabled and using a PIN/FaceID in Signal with an immediate lockout. Any of those settings being different will result in the issue not being present.

The issue still remains in version 6.59.0.23.
Still remains on a iphone 15 Pro version 6.61. Pretty annoying when it doesn't make the phone sleep :/
Same issue on iPhone 15 Pro, iOS 17.4, Signal 7.2.0.11.
