Using a supported version?

  • [x] I have searched searched open and closed issues for duplicates.
  • [x] I am using Signal-Desktop as provided by the Signal team, not a 3rd-party package.

Overall summary

Import of contacts and groups from Android to Windows fails.

Steps to reproduce

I am a new user to Signal.

  1. I installed it on Android.
  2. I gave access to contacts.
  3. I joined a group.
  4. I installed it on Windows 10.
  5. I linked Windows to Android.
  6. I explicitly imported contacts.
  7. I see neither contacts nor the group.
  • Do I miss something?
  • Is this a bug?
  • Is there a workaround?

Thanks.

Expected result

Import.

Actual result

Nope.

Update.

After writing a message to the group on Android, this also appeared in on Windows. But I typically wanted to do this on Windows.

I still didn't see anything about contacts. But -yet another update- by searching in chats, they appear.

So my remaining problem is the existing group not appearing when starting on Windows.
