Composer loses focus after window is minimized for a while

Open ExtRIELICi opened this issue 1 year ago • 2 comments

Whenever I send a message, minimize Signal, and then reopen it, the typing area isn’t focused.

Instead, the window just opens, and typing doesn’t do anything, no text is registered.

Sometimes, it even triggers random actions due to shortcuts.

I want to be able to type immediately after unminimizing Signal, similar to how it works on Discord.

Is this a bug or an intended “feature”?

For now, you can use the Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+T shortcut to put your cursor in the composer as workaround.

What platform are you on? I don't see a loss of focus when minimizing and restoring on macOS at least.

It occurs on both Windows and macOS. Try waiting a few minutes after minimizing, it should not refocus afterward.

On linux, the focus is correct if I open the window via the tray icon.

After opening signal thru a notification the focus is not on the typing area.
