Bug description

When i click Android notification "Signal Update - A new version of Signal is available. Tap to update.", the notification drawer closes to indicate the update process was started. But it seems to fail silently, because notification does not change (to "updating" or whatever), it just stays the same, showing update available message. The notification also does not disappear for a single second, it just stays the same.

Clicking update notification again leads to same result - nothing happens.

Update notification reappears constantly after being dismissed.

Make sure you have given Signal "Install unknown apps" permission (or whatever it's called exactly) if you're updating it this way.

It could be perhaps better communicated that this is needed.

Same problem here with Android 9, this problem appeared with Signal 7.32.1.
