Signal Android doesn't remember playback position of audio messages

Steps to reproduce:

1. Play a long audio message
2. Pause/stop the message
3. Do something else because you were interrupted
4. Come back to the audio message and resume playback

Expected behaviour:

I expect Signal to resume where I had left, similar to what Telegram does.

Actual behaviour:

Signal starts the audio message from the beginning instead of resuming.

I am using Signal version 7.0.2

How long were you elsewhere? We do save the state for a little bit and you can leave and come back into the app and should be able to resume playing, but it's not infinite.

Are you asking for whenever I resume it should remember (totally reasonable but a new feature) or is just switching to another app like a browser and coming back causing the state to be lost (a bug)?

Good question if it's a bug or missing feature.

Typical scenario: I am walking the streets while listening to an audio message. I get interrupted by a neighbour and chat for a few minutes. I want to resume the Signal audio but it starts from scratch.

Now, I cannot tell you exactly how minutes that was but I would say maximum 15 minutes.

The question is: is it reasonable for Signal to remember playback state for a couple of minutes?

I would highly vote for yes!

It's even showing the lastest pause point, but going to be reset for no reason. At least continue on the latest known point should be a solveable problem.
