Glitching screen

Open aloukos opened this issue 4 years ago • 9 comments

Just need to say I think what you did is great. However in my particular case when I launch a game in stadia, the game glitches to a green and purple color and only occupies a part of the screen. I believe it is a codec error, could you explain this issue to me? (Btw im using the Mi Box S)

Can you try the regular Chrome app in desktop mode and see if you get video?

There isn't a regular chrome app in Mi Box, so I sideloaded the chrome beta apk. Youtube worked, (as it also did on chromium for stadia apk) but stadia is the same purple green glitchy screen as it is in chromimum for stadia.

Can you share a screenshot of the issue?

Also, try finding some vp9 and h264 videos and play them on your device to see if the same thing happens.

IMG_20200522_085951 Heres a pic. As for playing vp9 and h264 videos I don't know how, sorry.

Having similar issues on fire tv box dv83yw (4K 2nd gen). Screen is fine on stadia but when starting the game it fills 1/4th of the screen and has green bar on top. I could imagine chromium reports 4k resolution but firetv is only outputting 1080 so seeing that exact 1/4th if the screen. Maybe you could override res reported to 1080?

Apart from that looks good, also the area under the green bar seems to be rendered correctly (apart from green bar), so no obvious h264 or vp9 problem. Already tried to set box resolution to 1080p in firetv settings, but the issue remains.

Rebooted the firetv now it works fine (leaving screen at 1080p). Edit: worked only once, and even does not work again after restarting. So back to my initial display issues.

I'm having issue with screen boxed and background green. There must be an easy solution for this? IMG_20200604_225011
