RFE: Restore workspace windows

Open pjoc opened this issue 2 years ago • 2 comments

I use and like the "Restore window's position" setting. However restoration doesn't take into account the workspace (virtual desktop) each window was on when saving, so every time I log in I have to spend time moving windows around as they all restore onto the same desktop, and which one it is appears to be either random or the one I happened to be on before logging out.

I'm using Linux (Fedora) with KDE/Plasma. I don't know if the same happens on other DE's or other OS's. This would be a much appreciated improvement to my workflow.

not an issue on windows

This is definitely an issue on Windows 10.

Every time I relaunch Firefox I have to sort dozens of windows across multiple virtual desktops (which I use extensively). This has been a thorn in my side for a long time. I actually posted about this on a couple of Firefox forums, thinking it was a FF issue.

I finally did some troubleshooting recently and realized that TSM was the culprit. With the extension enabled all FF windows open on a single virtual desktop. With the extension disabled the windows open on their respective virtual desktops.

Is there something I can change in the settings to control this behaviour?
