Cygwin - symlinks to ./lib don't work

Hi,

I just wanted to point out that I couldn't get this to work for ages with cygwin on emacs 24.3 due to the need of symlinks.

I noticed that ./lib/* had symlinks to ./vendor/submodules/... so i simply removed the symlinks and moved anything in submodules into the ./lib folder. Now evil mode starts up without issue.

Is this a feasible workaround? Is it possible i can modify the .gitmodules file to have the submodules defined in .lib, or is that dangerous?

Another possible solution would be to set the shell differently in emacs... (bash.exe?) but i'm not sure on the details... thanks. -Joe
