Cannot optimize images using WP Stateless plugin while images in Google Cloud Storage

We have a lot of sites using WP Stateless plugin which uploads images to Google Cloud Storage buckets. It's not optimal to install ShortPixel to these sites when there are already thousands of images in the cloud bucket only and bulk or any kind of compression/optimisation with ShortPixel does not work for them. Now the only workaround is to temporarily download the images to the host server, optimise them and delete, which is a bit of a tedious task.

Could you consider allowing optimisation for cloud based images also?

Hi Hannu and thanks for adding this issue. Yes, we'll add this on our list with feature requests, but I can't say anything about the time when it would be possible to get it implemented into the plugin. When the time comes for it, we'll be in touch, as we'll probably need more details about your setup.

I know it's been a while since you opened this issue, and the time has come for us to look into it more closely. Would it be possible to get a test environment for your setup with the WP Stateless plugin and the images stored in GCS?
