Release a gem with jruby-jars to run on MRI

Open PragTob opened this issue 11 years ago • 3 comments

So yesterday I was just reminded of this amazing thing which is called jruby-jars and if you use it correctly you can use JRuby gems with MRI and other ruby interpreters. Might be nice to check out for a release so people don't necessarily HAVE to instal JRuby although it is highly recommended by myself.

Greetings from JRuby conf in Potsdam :)

That's super cool. So if I understand correctly this would still require the users to have a JVM installed, but could package up JRuby to go along with it? Hadn't even realized that was in the realm of possibilities!

Hope JRuby Conf and Eurucamp were excellent!
