Android 14 beta + Carstream not showing on car display

Do we install the AAAD than the upgrade apk followed by Carstream app?
I used a fresh install of Android 14 spare phone did the upgrade apk , followed by AAAD Apk followed by Carstream. did not see the carstream loaded.

I had the same problem but after unlocking developer settings in Android Auto Carstream does appear on my Head Unit. Only problem now is that I get the message that "there are no messages during this drive". So I still can't get it to work.
Not working on pixel fold here either on official 14 or 14 beta tried both "no new messages error" on car stream & blank screen on fermenta. Tried several aaad apps as a test all give blank or no new msg. Have developer settings enabled in android auto & downgraded/upgraded android auto. Nothing has worked.
The package fix tht I ran on android 13 worked but once I upgraded to 14 nothing in AAAD works including carstream. Tried all 3 version of carstream
Update tried last few apps in AAAD today & none work. Not even 1. Unknown sources is on in android auto dev mode. It's either no new msgs, a blank screen, or it just doesn't even show in the AA list. Nothing working on 14
Same here, not working on pixel 8, in developer mode on android auto and pixel too, still no good,
I searched similar topics before upgrading my pixel 7pro. It seems none of you guys can make it work. But I just upgraded it then and it just work. I don't remember ever rooting my phone though...
I would also like to know how to do it
It works if u had android 13, ran the 13 package installer, & used it BEFORE going to android 14. If u upped to android 14 or ur phone came w/ 14 & u haven't already had it working ur screwed. All p8 owners are screwed.

It's NOT working on Android 14 for Pixels. There are no working instructions. Anybody tht has it working was on Android 13 using it & then upgraded to 14. If ur on 14 & u get the no new messages the only way possible to get it to work right now is to downgrade to Android 13. That's it. No instructions are available because no fix is available
The fix I eventually went with was downgrading my device to Android 13, continuing with the usual steps, downloading the Android 13 package installer, and installing with Kinguin. AAAD also worked to install apps and have them show in Android Auto. Basically, unless you revert to A13, you'll have to wait for the A14 package installer issue to be solved which could be a while
Thanks for the clarification. I think this is still good for those who wants to upgrade to A14 though.

I'd do it w/ extreme caution because yes I had carstream on 13 & upgraded to 14 & it kept working on my Pixel before I switched devices BUT tht was a 14 beta about a week before 14 official dropped. Not only tht but my new device is on 14 now & 2 minor updates listed as patches/bug fixes have come out on 14 since it's release. SOOOO if carstream or AAAD apps are important to you I would NOT update to 14 & press ur luck.
Although I'd bet it will work 4u I wouldn't risk it. Nothing in 14 is worth losing carstream imo. To each it's own. If u have a working carstream now on a pixel on 13 & do decide to update to 14 report back if u have it work or get the "no new messages" error please. Appreciate u

I'm in the same boat I have a pixel fold on 14 w/ the OEM bootloader option greyed out (carrier locked) so I can't downgrade to 13 either. My only hope is sadly waiting for a fix like we had on 13. I could wait if I had hope but currently nobody's mentioning they are looking at it, trying, or aware. It's pretty much several threads on here of ppl saying hey the AAAD app doesn't work now (not 1 single app in AAAD works) & ppl are paying for nothing like I did. Well I got a week or 2 of AAAD working for buying Pro. It's a shame u can buy it w/o any warning tht it won't work 😞
