We have added a dependency of Field UI module and rolled back the previous changes which will prevent such issues in future.

@mxr576 We tried the above mentioned 3 steps however we are not able to reproduce this issue on both 3.0.0 and 3.0.1. Is there anything we have missed?

Thanks @mxr576 I was able to reproduce this issue only when I check the `Create referenced entities if they don't already exist` checkbox in reference type setting. Not sure though...

@audave When we uninstall the field_ui module, NULL is passed to prefix which was causing this issue, PR 988 will fix this issue. Let me know if the issue is...
