IRMG Apso-class

About The Pull Request

Introduces the Apso-class Signaller to the IRMG's ship roster and some associated fluff.

"A relatively recent addition to the mercenary company's fleet, the construction of the Apso-class was outsourced to Hardline in 506FS with specifications for a small, purpose-built communications and support vessel. Outfitted with basic facilities and a powerful, long-range communications suite capable of networking IRMG ships cross-sector; this little ship typically operates as a signaller and reconnaissance vessel within operational range of larger friendly forces, bolstering coordination by directing communications and relaying strategic information. The Apso's importance to local coordinated efforts make it a prime target for pirates and adversaries, making it rare to see independent of another IRMG vessel. Crews of this vessel experience cramped living conditions with a smaller divide between the ranks, commonly assigned to greenhorn Vanguards with smaller influences - or experienced commanders willing to act as a keystone of coordination in more dangerous sectors of the Frontier." apso ingame

Crew Complement:

Total: 4

  • Vanguard "Squad Leader of the ship. Organize your ship's direction and schedule. Meet up with allied ships and network them. Be the prime target on the battlefield."
  • Artificer "Manage the ship's communications and infrastructure. Link allied ship relays to your hub. Keep track of a dozen frequencies. Lament when one of the tcomms machines breaks."
  • Enforcer "Act as the muscle of the ship. Defend your strategic assets. Shoot pirates. Shoot goliaths. Shoot the auxiliary for breaking a machine."
  • Auxiliary "A freeform role. Take up the mantle of the medic. Backup the enforcer and vanguard in the field. Train under the artificer, then lament as you accidentally break one of the tcomms machines."

Why It's Good For The Game

gives inteq a new support ship in the form of a small tcomms ship, able to relocate itself faster with it's low size and crew count for quicker, efficient link-ups and responses. fills the role of a 4-man ship for the faction, providing a lower bar of entry for new vanguards while still encouraging them to upkeep the faction image through interactions with other ships - also gives experienced players a more lax or challenging ship to play on, depending on what lens you view it lhasa apso

mayhaps not bundle the talos removing into the pr unless absolutely necessary

btw - med spot but no role is quite odd. Plus one slot should not be a big deal here imo, and people will probably ask for +1 in round anyhow

Proteus-class_Decommissioned_Frigate Not Proteus

I don't see this mentioned anywhere, but perhaps I am overlooking it. Did you rework the Proteus for this?

it's the inspiration for the hull shape, but it's not the same ship or rework of it. it's entirely from scratch

sorry what is the proteus?

I would have liked a mention. There are more than a few design similarities I can point out.
