github desktop linux - selected theme not persistent between sessions

The problem

ive found that if I choose the dark theme in options it'll only last until i close the application and when I reopen it my theme setting has been forgotten

Version 3.2.1-linux2 (x64)

Operating system

Linux Mint 21.1 (Vera)

Steps to reproduce the behavior

1. click file menu > options > appearance > dark theme > save
2. exit the app and reopen and the selected theme is lost

Its the flatpak (flathub) version available from linux mint 21.1 software manager
