Cursor too small when using fractional scaling

The problem

The cursor appears very tiny. Using popular workarounds like forcing increased cursor size using sudo flatpak override --env=XCURSOR_SIZE=48 io.github.shiftey.Desktop does not work. Changing the mouse pointer theme also does not work.
