Has anyone been able to build a layer on top of a Python run time beyond 3.8? Or is Docker the better option.

Working on python upgrades due to deprecation of python 3.7 and python 3.8 at the end of this year. Used to run a libre office from 3.7 and was curious what the next jump is? I currently do not dockerize the library, rather pull it in and setup on first start.
