pingu google.com PING google.com (209.85.202.113) type Ctrl-C to abort [ ERROR ] an error occurred when running ping: socket: permission denied

running debian 12, golang 1.20, have tried it with sudo, anything further i can provide to help let me know

i have exactly the same issue, debian 12 and go1.20.7

tried again when i had some go updates, I'v been doing it wrong, this works: sudo ./pingu -P github.com
