Base attack feedback

Hi,

About base attack. Do you have any plans to overhaul this at any future point in time? We were kinda disappointed when our 27 Abrams tanks spawned 600 meters from enemy garrison right inside the enemy base and just blew them to pieces. Our CAS wasnt even half way there when the mission was essentially over.

I would propose spawning the friendly battle group a little ways outside of the objective so that they need to travel a bit in order to assault. Maybe Id go as far as to spawn them on the closest friendly base and let them make their way there (this could actually tie in very nicely with the enabled Combined Arms slots) so that you can even set up the attack the way you want.

I'll look into that, it probably need tweaking because, yeah, currently they could be as close as 600 meters.

Adding to that - they're not active from the very beginning. Only when you approach the conflict area (around 25km) they activate and attack the enemy positions.

I don't see this working, since it'd take enormous amount of time to travel, possibly failing half of the times.

Thanks, sounds great! Yeah I figured it could be an issue with the DCS pathing and distances.

Iam aware of the activation time but it probably needs to be tweaked to have a higher minimum distance like you said.

At the very minimum - I will change the distance in upcoming RC build.

Any update on this by the way? Whenever we do one of these, all but maybe one or two enemy units are gone by the time we're in range. A lot of times, there will be 40+ enemy units and they're all dead before we can arrive.
