Visual adornment cleanliness

This is a great extension, but its visual presentation needs some minor tweaks. The rectangular highlight is too tall. It should be reduced in height so it does not displace the spacing of the current line, i.e., if I paste a non-printable character into a line, the line should not "jump" vertically at all.

Also, there is currently no visual indicator when the adornment is contained in a selection, It should change colors when included in a text selection.
