Because it is minimal change. JDNS_MODERN_RES_API hit modern linux like debian :P I think define new macro is not good idea. jdns is dead, and i assume jdns will be...

@Neustradamus I'm not able to verify issue after 11 years. I don't have active xmpp account and native ipv6 connection. BTW I will try to check.
