Shiny hunter keeps freezing?

Downloaded this earlier and followed the instructions as told. I ran shiny hunter but it would freeze up every so often. From as few as 20 encounters to around 200+. Is this a normal issue for it? I have the GFX turned off and graphics set to low even to bolster the speed. By freezing up it's basically:

• Character just stands at map, not doing any battle. The program would display EnterBattleFalse or something along those lines.
• Totally just black screen when engaging combat. When it freezes I close the game and reopen it along with the program. So far it's never let me hunt for more than 200+ encounters.
