Border size options are confusing

Open Pizzahawaiii opened this issue 3 years ago • 1 comments

While trying to fix #1086, I found out that border size options in the appearance settings control the padding between the border and the frame's content, i.e. the inset, as demonstrated here:

pfUI_bag_border_size

That's counter-intuitive to me. I expected those options to control the actual thickness of the borders, not some padding around them, and I'm sure so do most other people (as evidenced by the issue I'm trying to fix).

I think the options should be renamed to something like "border padding". What's your opnion?

Side-note: I was also surprised to see that the bag border options affect not only the bag frame itself, but all of its children as well, effectively resulting in bigger buttons, smaller item icons and larger margins between the items. It's actually a nice feature and I guess, techincally, all of those are borders as well (of the respective child frames). But from a non-technical user perspective, I wouldn't consider them "bag borders".
